Discover all you need to know about youth group experiences with Apex.
What age groups can serve?
Apex is open to all incoming high school (9th grade) students through the summer following their high school graduation.
What is the required leader-to-student ratio?
Each team is asked to bring at least one adult leader for each gender; the preferred ratio is one leader for every eight to 10 students, and a minimum of three leaders per group. Adult leaders are required to be 19 years of age or older.
Is a deposit required?
There is a $100 non-refundable deposit per participant due at the time of registration.
When is the payment balance due?
We will email final invoices on (or around) May 1. Balances are due 30 days prior to arriving at your ministry site.
How do you manage cancellations or reduced numbers?
See the Registration Payment Policy for details: https://helps.efca.org/bundles/apex-missions
What does the cost include?
Registration includes room, board, Apex tools (pre-trip and on-site training materials) and Apex staff. See site description for site specific details.
What forms are required?
Every participant will be required to complete an EFCA liability form and a participant information form.
Every participant 18 or older will also be required to complete a background check and the EFCA MinistrySafe Child Protection materials. These will all be made available to you in the weeks after registration.
Is transportation provided?
U.S. teams are responsible for transportation. Transportation is required during the week to get to various ministry opportunities. Because of the challenges of city traffic and parking, 15-passenger vans are the largest size vehicle that can be accommodated. We would also appreciate a couple extra seats in your vehicles for the on site Apex staff to ride with you.
International teams will have on-site transportation provided.
How should I prepare for an Apex trip?
Apex Missions requires team preparation in advance of your arrival. Teams will receive a Prefield Training Guide designed to equip your team with "Here to Everywhere" missions training and to help you adequately prepare for your site specific ministry.
Prefield training meetings with your students are expected.
When does registration close?
US sites online registration closes March 1.
International sites online registration closes February 1.
How do I pay for my registration?
Payments can be made by credit card online at the time of registration. A 3% credit card fee will be added.
Payments may also be made by calling the EFCA National Office at (800) 745-2202 and asking for Donor Services. Be sure to indicate this is an Apex Missions payment.
Payments may also be made by check. Make checks payable to the Evangelical Free Church of America and note Apex Youth 9375 in the memo line.
